Online piano lessons are an easy way to bring some fun and learning into your life!

These frequently asked questions are often asked by parents of potential students. Hopefully this list will help answer your questions about Emmick Music Studio too!

What instruments do you teach?
Both piano and flute lessons are available.

How old does my child need to be to begin piano lessons?
Students may begin music lessons at Pre-school or Kindergarten. At this age, students learn music fundamentals and pre-piano skills which include singing, rhythms, folk songs and musical concepts. For families that would like to pursue lessons for younger children, we recommend a trial lesson to determine readiness or a summer pre-piano camp.

Most students are ready for beginning piano by 2nd or 3rd grade, although it is never too late to start!

Whether you decide to study music at a young age or not, I always recommend that young children greatly benefit from dance classes to instill rhythm and skills associated with listening to music, as well as listening to lots of folk music and classical music.

How old does my child need to be to begin flute lessons?
Flute students should preferably be 11 years or older.

Do you teach music lessons to adults?

When do you teach?
Everyday of the week, by appointment.

Where are you located?
Lessons are in the White Rock Lake area of Northeast Dallas, near the intersection of Northwest Highway and Plano Road, conveniently located to Lake Highlands and Lakewood. Online piano lessons are also available!

Do you have recitals?
Yes, an annual recital is offered.
How much does it cost to get started?
A non-refundable registration fee is due, along with the first month’s tuition. Tuition is an annual amount, collected in monthly installments. Please contact the studio for current rates.
Are there any long-term commitments?
Lessons may be discontinued at any time with written notice. Simply complete a withdrawal form by the 15th of your last month! All fees and tuition already paid are non-refundable.
Can I take piano lessons on a keyboard?
This is probably one of our most frequently asked questions! A piano is preferred, there is just no substitute for the real thing! However, many students begin lessons on a keyboard. Keyboards should be full sized, with graded and weighted keys.

I need a flute. Where can I buy one?
Visit the Carolyn Nussbaum Music Company for expert help selecting the best flute available within your budget is highly recommended. They will take good care of you! If you would prefer to rent a flute, I can recommend a dealer in your area.
